Monthly Luncheon: September 2006 -- Gregg Goslin
Featured speaker Cook County Commissioner Gregg Goslin will address members of the Chamber and guests and provide an update on the many issues facing the Cook County Board this year. In addition to recent headlines about the resignation of former Cook County Board President John Stroger, Goslin is expected to address whether the change in leadership will upset the balance of power on the board, what the suburban communities can expect from the latest round of budget proceedings, whether fees are likely to coninue to be the major source of revenue for the board and if so, what increases are likely. Goslin has been an outspoken critic of the County budget and has sponsored a number of measures to overhaul expenditures for the Forest Preserve budget. Cook County is the 19th largest government in the nation and the second most populous county in the country with over 5 million residents.
