Lunch & Learn - Researching Businesses with Reference USA
At this informative program conducted in the Library’s computer classroom, small business owners and entrepreneurs will learn how to tap into the database Reference USA, a powerful online tool to help them expand their list of contacts. Reference USA helps users gather company information, create marketing plans, conduct competitive analysis and locate people and businesses, with access to over 20 million businesses, 1.5 million Canadian businesses and 855,000 health care providers. Attendees will learn how to search by name, geographic area, company size, sales volume, Yellow Page heading, Zip Code, area code or other criteria. Once the search is completed, there will be instruction on how to download the data. Two other free eResources that can help with prospecting, LexisNexis Library Express and Public Records, will also be shown. The program will include step-by-step instructions, with live demonstrations on how to conduct a search.
