Legislative Luncheon featuring Village President Gene Marks
Village President Gene Marks will be the keynote speaker at this month’s Legislative Luncheon, where he will give an overview of major issues facing Northbrook.
In this annual address to the business community, he will provide an update on the economic development climate in Northbrook and a number of proposals under consideration by the Village Board, including several senior housing proposals, new hotels that are included in pending projects, the development at 1000 Skokie Boulevard and the Center for the Northshore. Marks will discuss how to manage these projects and fit them within the character of Northbrook.
Other issues that Marks will comment on include an update on the Sky Harbor roads project, his initiatives to make Northbrook a "green" community, finding new and cost effective ways to provide services and the latest on the Comprehensive Plan.
A 24 year resident of Northbrook, Marks was a member of the Northbrook Alarm Commission for 20 years prior to his election as Village President in April 2005. He has announced his plans to run for re-election in 2009.
