Legislative Lunch featuring Village President Sandra Frum
In this annual address to the Chamber by the Village President, Frum will discuss the localeconomic climate and its effects on Northbrook’s finances, provide an update on the Comprehensive Plan and describe efforts to develop a marketing plan for the community. She will also explain the Village’s “Strive for 35” campaign to ensure Northbrook’s full participation in the upcoming Census in 2010. Should Northbrook’s population reach at least 35,000, it will improve its position to receive government funding, and could also affect state and federal legislative boundaries.
Other issues that Frum will comment on include her thoughts on the future of the downtown, efforts to streamline the Village’s committee structure and economic development projects that are on the horizon.
A resident of Northbrook for over 30 years, she has served on the Village Board for 22 years as a Village Trustee, prior to her election as Village President in April 2009. She chaired the Village’s Finance and Administration Commitee and was instrumental in supporting efforts to improve the roads in the Sky Harbor business park.
There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and answers during this informative lunch. Frum’s presentation will conclude this year’s Lunch and Learn lunch series.
