About Us

Established in 1850, the Road and Bridge Northfield District is an independent Cook County unit of local government headquartered at 237 Melvin Drive, Northbrook. RBND maintains roads, bridges, drainage, traffic signage, and right-of-way infrastructure throughout the township's unincorporated areas — supporting safe, reliable travel for residents and the businesses that serve them. Under Highway Commissioner Michael J. Korman, RBND is advancing fleet electrification, MUTCD signage modernization, and sustainable invasive species management.
