About Us

JCC Chicago is the largest Jewish Community Center in North America, serving tens of thousands of children, teens, adults, seniors and families through our incredible selection of award-winning, life-enriching programs and experiences. We were founded more than 100 years ago as a place for new immigrants to find connections and community. Today we are a vibrant, forward-thinking, world-class organization offering innovative and engaging touchpoints for our community.
Unlike other JCCs, JCC Chicago has multiple locations spanning hundreds of miles, from Lake Delton, WI to Chicago's south suburbs. Our programs include 11 day camps, one overnight camp, seven preschools, two aquatics centers, a beautiful fitness center, adult education classes, and our annual JCC Chicago Jewish Film Festival which has welcomed over 50,000 moviegoers to date. From April-September 2023, the J is bringing the internationally acclaimed Violins of Hope exhibit to IL featuring 70 violins that survived the Holocaust. Some will be played in a Northbrook Symphony concert on June 4.
Bernard Weinger JCC in Northbrook is home to our beloved Early Childhood program offering full and half-day preschool for children 6 months- 5 years old, Apachi Village Day Camp for 3-5 year olds, programs for teens, families, adults and seniors, special event spaces for birthday parties and more. The Marvin Lustbader Health Club features the newest cardio equipment, cycle studio, weight room, two group exercise studios, plus renovated locker rooms, with steam and massage. An indoor pool and full-size gym round out the space.
