DESCRIPTION:Out of an abundance of caution related to the recent COVID resurgence\, this event has been postponed.  \n\n\n\nThe Chamber welcomes Village staff leadership from the Department of Development & Planning Services for a meet-and-greet opportunity with members over lunch at Marcello?s. Director Michaela Kohlstedt and Deputy Director Chan Yu will discuss how their department interacts with local businesses\, and share insight for trends that will shape the Village in the near future. \n\n\n\nThe Development & Planning Services Department is responsible for issuing building permits\, administering the Village?s municipal and zoning codes\, overseeing food services\, and implementing orderly development in the community.  In the past year\, the Department has been involved in providing background research to the Village Board and Plan Commission regarding affordable housing\, short term rentals\, accessory dwelling units\, sustainability\, and other policy initiatives. \n\n\n\nMichaela Kohlstedt has been with the Village since 2006\, and served as Deputy Director of the Department beginning in 2017 before taking over the leadership of the Department in February 2021. Chan Yu  joined the Department as Deputy Director early this year and serves as liaison to the business community.\n\n\n\nPlease note COVID protocols:  Advance reservations are required.  Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.  In accordance to CDC and State of Illinois guidance\, unvaccinated individuals will be required to wear a mask.
