DESCRIPTION:Annual State of the Village Address\n\n	featuring Village President Sandra Frum\n\n	\n\n	Monday\, November 22\n\n	11:45 a.m.   1:15 p.m.\n\n	Pinstripes\, 1150 Willow Road\n\n	$25 in advance/ $30 at the door\n\n	 Village President Sandy Frum will be the keynote speaker at this month's legislative luncheon where she will give an overview of major issues facing the Village of Northbrook and provide a summary of challenges and opportunities the community expects to face in the coming months. \n\n	In this annual address to the business community\, President Frum will highlight information about the local economic climate and the Village's efforts to deal with the challenges it presents. She will explain how the Village has implemented unprecedented changes to its structure in an effort to balance the budget due to reduced revenues\, while working to maintain exceptionally high standards of customer service from the Village's six operating departments. Frum will comment on her recent initiatives to rethink the way the Village does business\, including the new "zero-based services" assessment\, now underway in the Public Works Department. This assessment focuses on core responsibilities of the Village and takes a fresh look at how the Village will operate in the future. \n\n	President Frum will also discuss the Village's recent initiatives to increase the transparency of Village business\, emphasizing efforts to provide more information regarding financial matters on the Village's website\, along with the new video streaming of the Plan Commission and Board of Trustee meetings. \n\n	Other issues that Frum will comment on include her thoughts on the future of the downtown\, economic development projects on the horizon\, and the many new businesses that have recently located in Northbrook. \n\n	A resident of Northbrook for over 31 years\, President Frum has served on the Village Board for 22 years as a Village Trustee\, prior to her election as Village President in April 2009.
